#MWSC18: Leading From Your Best Self

"Leading From Your Best Self" was the central theme of the 2018 Women in Surgery Leadership Development Conference. The conference featured a He For She track led by led by Michael Mulholland, MD, PhD and Justin Dimick, MD, MPH, which focused on “Diversity as a Leadership Competency, its importance to the individual and organization." Additionally, a Resident Leadership track, led by Karin Hardiman, MD, PhD and Lynn Frydrych, MD, discussed “Breaking the Mold, or how to make your uniqueness be an asset for you". The conference was sponsored by University of Michigan Department of Surgery with generous contributions from the Institute for Research on Women and Gender & the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.

Reshma Jagsi, MD, DPhil is a Professor in the Michigan Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology. She is also the Deputy Chair and Residency Program Director of the same department, in addition to Director of the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine at the University of Michigan.
