Becoming Who You Want to Be

The 2017 Women in Surgery Leadership Development Conference was the first annual conference held by the Michigan Women's Surgical Collaborative in Ann Arbor, MI. It brought together female surgeons from across the country to discuss experiences and challenges in the field of surgery as a community, in addition to personal and professional development strategies. The conference was sponsored by the Michigan Medicine Department of Surgery.

Janet Pinkerton Dombrowski

Janet Pinkerton Dombrowski, BSN, MHSA

Janet is the President/Founder of JCD Advisors, LLC, an executive coaching and organizational development consulting company based in Ann Arbor. Her work is exclusively focused on supporting C-suite executives and physician leaders in becoming more intentional about their leadership presence and effectiveness. Janet will be providing leadership coaching during the conference.

Julia Lee

Julia Lee, PhD

Dr. Lee is an assistant professor of management and organizations at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. She instructs BBA, MBA, and executive education courses focusing on negotiation, leadership, and organizational behavior. Her research examines how employees address challenges in the workplace by utilizing their relationships, interpreting negative events, and changing implicit beliefs. She also researches the positive outcomes related to emphasizing best self concepts.
